SOUTH AFRICA: Russian rolling stock group Transmashholding officially inaugurated its first African factory on April 2.

The former DCD Rolling Stock plant at Boksburg in Gauteng province was acquired last October by the TMH Africa joint venture of TMH International (70%) and its black economic empowerment partner Mjisa Investments (30%).

It will undertake the assembly, maintenance and modernisation of rolling stock for customers in South Africa and elsewhere on the continent.
